The Grubby One is our oldest and most popular chuck box. Designed in 1988 it has undergone many subsequent improvements to enhance it's functionality. This is a great option for your standard weekend, 'family of four' type camping trips. It's everything a chuck box needs to be - stores your camp kitchen, gives you stable work surfaces and sets up with utility features.

The Grubby Two is probably the best option for the scoutmaster patrol box, chili cook-off king or camping event organizer. Once setup it has one continuous work surface that is over 6' long by 16" wide. All contents, drawers and shelves are equally accessible from either side making it quite functional for the camp cook and helpers. In the stored state, the camp kitchen weight is also split between the two boxes. This makes loading carrying and unloading easier.

This unit is designed to hold those big bulky and awkward size items. It can be constructed as just a basic box or with extension shelves. You can actually get it with shelves on both ends! It is also designed so a camp stove can be stored in a special adjustable compartment. It was originally designed to be used in compliment with either the Grubby One or Grubby Two but also stands well alone. Anytime you need compact, portable, storage and portable table space this is the box to have.

For those who have limited space, either half of a Grubby Two is available separately as something of a mini chuckbox. Additionally, a folding leg extension leaf will work with either the tub half or drawer half box providing a quick way of achieving more counter space. One of these makes a pretty economical starter option that can then be added to over time.

Most products are available as plans, kits, unfinished or finished. The difference between these options is work and who does it. ( An unfinished version is probably the best option for most people.) |
Kits are all pieces cut to size with the difficult parts like drawers made for you. All dados, grooves and holes, except pilot holes, are done for you. It includes all hardware except 5/8" brad nails. Illustrated step by step instruction book included. |

Unfinished products are completely assembled for you. You can use one of our standard stain options or whatever you prefer and finish with either polyurethane or spar varnish. Some folks will prime and paint. We do the real work - you get the glory! |
Finished products come completely assembled with your selected stain option and a coat of polyurethane. Laminate options are available for both unfinished and finished products. ( Not kits.) |
